10K Temperature Sensor (7790) aftermarket replacement

This sensor is also called an AquaLink Temp Sensor and replaces the Jandy AquaLink RS Temperature Sensor 7790. This sensor can be used to monitor air, water, or solar temperature and has a 15' cord.

Used to Replace the Following:

7784 -- Air/Solar Temperature Sensor Kit, 15 ft.
7786 -- Air/Water/Solar Temperature Sensor Kit, 50 ft.
7790 -- Air/Water/Solar Temperature Sensor Kit, 15 ft.
7791 -- Air/Water/Solar Temperature Sensor Kit, 125 ft.

Replace your worn Zodiac/Jandy/Polaris water or temperature sensor with this replacement. Zodiac now owns Jandy and Polaris. The temperature sensor is used as a replacement for the air, or water, or solar temperature sensor in the AquaLink Controls Automated Systems.

FEATURES:

• Water/Air/Solar - The AquaLink RS provides terminals for up to three Temperature Sensors, specifically for Water, Air, and Solar
• 10K Ohms Thermistor
• Compatible with Zodiac, Jandy, and Polaris Controls

WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
Jandy WATER Temperature Sensors are installed in a 3/8" drilled hole in pipe between the filter pump and filter. This is how Jandy AquaLink Automated Systems identify your pool's water temperature.

AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
This Temp Sensor can also be installed as an AIR Temperature Sensor outside the power center, not in direct sunlight and away from motors and other heat sources.

SOLAR TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
The Jandy Temp Sensor can also be also used to install a SOLAR Temperature Sensor (optional) adjacent to solar panels.

NOTE: This item is NOT compatible with the following
5089 -- Jandy JI Series & Older AquaLink Water Temperature Sensor (2-Wire). The 2000/4000/8000 Water Temperature Sensor (Single), AquaLink +T, RC & Ji Series, which measures 1K ohms
4019 -- Water Temperature Sensor (Double) 4-Wire.

To determine the type of sensor, the resistance must be measured in ohms using a volt/ohm meter when the sensor is at 77 degrees F. 10k measures 10,000 ohms and 1k measures 1,000 ohms. As the temperature goes up, the resistance goes down. Resistance can be checked at any temperature, and then convert the ohm reading measured to the temperature equivalent by using a conversion chart.

Everything worked perfectly. It was my first time to install a temperature sensor, but the video was both informative and very entertaining. I look forward to making other repairs with you guys in the future.
